Tiger Energy Drink

(NOTE: Energy drink reviews have been moved to http://www.fizzywakeup.com)
I found this one on the clear-out shelf at Tesco, just a quid for a pack of 4. I think it was left over from the World Cup given that it has football style patterns all over it and a “Tiger Roars on England” slogan plastered on the side.

Tiger Energy Drink

It tastes quite sweet and doesn’t have the same Red Bull clone flavour or the usual sour taste also associated with the cheapo drinks – quite pleasant and probably won’t be seen again for another four years.

Cardiff 10K

cardiff_10k_logo_2010I’ve been roped in to doing the Cardiff 10K on September 12th by ‘The Wife’… she’s doing it too along with a few others who shall remain nameless unless they speak up in the comments. Vicky has set up a sponsorship page anyway, with all funds raised going to Kidney Wales. Click here for the sponsorship page if you would like to make a contribution.

UPDATE: The rest of the party have identified themselves. Helena, Diarra and Sioned are also taking part and Helena has set up a rival sponsorship page. It is only fair I put up a link to her page also…. click here to sponsor Helena.

New Windows Live Essentials

August 18th, 2010 No Comments »

Funky new feature….. Windows Live Messenger (formerly MSN Messenger) now fully links up with Facebook and Facebook chat! All your Facebook contacts appear online and chattable, nice! No more logging in to a stupid web site to chat at last (hint hint sister).

That’s just one of many updates to the whole Windows Live Essentials suite of software, which you can download for free here: http://explore.live.com/windows-live-essentials-beta

If you haven’t tried this beta out yet, then you also get the ability to link up with Facebook for ‘Social Highlights’ where it just lists the most recent friends updates, a bit like you see when you log in to Facebook. Your status updates are also synchronised between Windows Live and Facebook… useful. For those of you using MySpace (is there anyone left??) it’ll link with that too, and the work-based less fun LinkedIn network.

Baguelette?

The Baguelette… it would be an omelette, but in a baguette? Just a thought.

Lasagne Sandwich (Lasagnwich?)

You heard right, today’s culinary delight is Tesco’s new Lasagne Sandwich. It looks something like this:

Lasagne Sandwich

It was indeed nice. Inside was the expected minced beef in a tomato sauce, topped with a large sheet of pasta and finished off with a creamy cheese sauce. It did taste just like lasagne, but in a sandwich. For those nutritionally minded, here’s the breakdown:

Lasagne Sandwich Nutrition

That’s right, it is only 38% of your daily fat allowance. It got me thinking though of other possibilities for lunch-time snack versions of larger meals. The only one I can come up with so far is Wrapatouille – made from the finest ratatouille placed inside a tortilla. Any other suggestions at all please? The best idea may even make it in to reality and on to this blog…
