A Local Shop, for Local People

January 23rd, 2010 3 Comments »

Today saw the official opening of our village’s first ever shop

At 4pm this afternoon the shop was opened by none other than our very own Councillor Stan Mason who had obviously been bribed with free cake. Stan can be seen under the ‘m’ in the photo above talking to my father-in-law about the adoption (or lack of) of the village roads. The shop appears to sell everything from washing up liquid to Cornish pasties so may turn out to be quite useful… if a little bad for the waistline.

    Mmmm Pasties.

How come it’s called Premier, yet they have a cheap banner!

it should be called Pyle village as its near pyle and not Margam where i live. Its called Margam Village because some people from Margam went to live there.

Er, no. It is known as Margam Village because it is right next to Margam Park and down the road from Margam, its nearest town in the same county. It shouldn’t be called Pyle Village because it is in Neath Port Talbot and not Bridgend (like Pyle is). Anyway, it’s called Coed Hirwaun.
