Bond's back…

… but I didn’t think it was as good as Casino Royale, that said it was still a good film. Pretty much just one long action sequence barely taking a breath between fight scenes. It was also quite a short one at about an hour and 40 minutes long but that meant the bag of minstrels didn’t run out.. which reminds me.. Ben and Jerry’s Chocolate Cheescake Ice Cream is the best. mmm.

It looks like my little mini poll of Obama vs. McCain was accurate.. Obama has won by a landslide according to the press.

Who will win?

The big day is almost upon us… who will win the US presidential election? OK, so it isn’t UK politics, but our media is desperately trying to wrap us up in the whole soap opera affair so I thought I’d jump on the bandwagon. Ladies and gentlemen place your votes: who do you think will win?

Food food and more food

What a sensory overload it has been for my tastebuds over the last few days. A well-travelled colleague of mine recommended that next time I eat Indian food, I try a Thali. This is apparantly a traditional Indian meal consisting of a number of small vegetarian courses… so I thought OK, and on Friday evening I ordered one (along with a Chicken Rogan Josh in case it was proper minging), but it turned out to be proper not minging and I’d definitly order it again. We had a mushroom curry, spicy chick peas, vegetable curry and lots of other bits and bobs.

Then on Saturday my parents came to visit and I took them to the Gourmet Burger Kitchen in Cardiff Bay.. plenty of vegetarian options but I had a chili burger.. mmmmm. It was too bloomin’ cold at the bay so we came home pretty quick afterwards.

Today I’m sitting here feeling very stuffed after a visit to a little pub called The Laleston Inn.. three courses.. starter was average, main was superb (massive fancy chicken kiev type thing) and the dessert was worthy of an award. It was a chocolate spong casing filled with dark chocolate truffle and a layer of white chocolate mousse on top all covered in some chocolate and caramel sauce. I can forgive them for putting fruit on the plate as the portion was a massive wedge measuring about 4 inches high.

Oh yes, and my mom brought a tin of home made tiffin with her. Only one piece left now. And the mother-in-law made her toffee and fudge… that’ll be tea tonight sorted then.
