What a nice combination! …. thinking that the best weather would be this morning I rode my bike in to Margam Park. I didn’t cover much ground as the path I wanted to take (Cwm Phillip??) was blocked off by a big green gate and I’m too weak and feeble to get my bike past it, so I took a right turn up the side of a huge hill. Even the juggernaut tyres on my bike couldn’t cope with the climb (it was the bike, honest) so after walking to the top I got great views briefly before hitting 22mph on the bumpy ride down…woooooooohoooooo. And I didn’t fall off, which was the best bit. Then after that I went and sat in the cinema on my own and saw one of those local Welsh films. Indiana Jones. Accompanied by Turkish Delight ice cream. Now it’s time for Dr Who so no phoning me in the next hour, okay!
Actually, can I just add, I hit 29mph on the road on the way back… the 22mph was down a dirt track and my brains were hurting so I didn’t dare let the brakes out fully – they did need seriously adjusting afterwards though cuz of the wear. They smelled warm too.

Yup… apologies once again for the downtime over the last few weeks… the day I left for Wales to start my new job was the day my broadband decided to start playing up, so for the first 2 weeks I was totally cut off – no email cuz my server was down, no mobile phone allowed in the office, no laptop in the office because it hadn’t arrived yet… Oh well, at least now the server is up and running in the Coed Hirwaun Data Centre. The problem seemed to be caused by one of the power supplies to one of my USB hard drive enclosures – it was making a funny buzzing noise and was causing the broadband connection to drop out.. Strange, but at least the server was designed with resiliance and is now running off just the one hard drive (touch wood that I don’t get a drive crash now!).
In other news… Poppy’s birthday card was shown on CBeebies. I recorded it and have put it up in the video pages. I’ll also put up a edit of her 2nd birthday video soon too. I’ve bought a laptop so as I can edit the footage here in Wales – also so as I can finish off James and Jo’s wedding video that I filmed a few weeks back too (it’s an Asus X53SR for the geeks reading this.. was very cheap at PC World….).
Anyway, it’s weird being sort of on my own in the evenings… I have Vicky’s parents around but it’s not quite the same… they don’t nag quite the same as the wife
I have on the other hand almost finished watching every single episode of Red Dwarf ever made, but can’t get any further than 70% completed on Ridge Racer 7.
And one final note, does anyone want to buy a 3-bed semi in Bedworth? Please?
