Thanks to everyone for all the cards and the messages.. was nice! The three of us went to TGI Fridays last night for a meal (lashings of JD BBQ sauce of course..). Poppy had her own meal for the first time, fish nugget things, most of which went on the floor. We’re still waiting for a decent weekend to test my birthday tent out as a family. I’m sure it’ll clear up soon.

On a different note… why will no-one quote me to sort out the flat roof on the dormer at the front of my house???!? I’ve asked at least four companies for a quote.. they’ve all said yes then nothing /no-one ever turns up! I reckon it’s cuz we’re number 13.

Yesterday I made my 14th trip to the summit of Snowdon, my second time via the Crib Goch route.. for those not familiar with this route, imagine a near vertical scramble up the side of a mountain, followed by 2 hours across a knife-edged ridge… great fun! We camped overnight at a site in Llanberis and the new tent survived. Tesco burgers and value chicken has never tasted so good. I’m back home safe now despite the gushing torrents of overspilled rivers blocking our every path in North Wales… (that’s sarcasm by the way) and find we are blessed with our next harvest. Thankfully all the radishes are gone, and we have runner beans, dwarf carrots, and peas! More peas should be ready next week along with a couple more carrots, and we’ll be over-run with beans over the next month or two. The sweetcorn is looking a little sadder as I’ve had to prop it up due to all the wind and rain last week, but we have some small cucumbers starting to make an appearance.

Many years ago I wrote a lot of music… for GCSE, A-Level, and even for my own personal reasons. I’ve managed to record them all to mp3 so as I can share with / torture everyone who cares to listen.

I’ve decided to put some fish in my fish tank. It’s been a good few weeks since Rainbow Brite’s rotted corpse was removed and it’s pretty settled. Water tests show the balance is okay if a little hard (for Em’s peace of mind!).

Only problem is that since I put some nice real plants in there, a couple of snails came unknowingly free. They obviously found each other irresistible cuz now there’s bloomin’ thousands of them. Well, there was. A fair few of them are now floating after I got a magic potion from the pet store. My plan is to take Poppy to the pet store on Saturday to pick a few fish out… I’ll keep you posted.
