We’re in a lovely cottage looking out over Lamlash Bay towards Holy Island. The weather has been pretty warm and dry – we managed a walk around some waterfalls yesterday, and should be visiting a chocolate factory (mmm) later today. There’s a pool table and darts board in the games room as well…. Can it get any better? Yes.. The mother-in-law is here too :)

  • I would just like to remind certain mother-in-laws that this is my web site… Therefore if you are of an easily offended mindset or don’t consider South Park a serious documentary can I make a couple of suggestions…

    1) Don’t read this blog
    or
    2) Set up your own blog and flame me

    That’s the Internet for you

  • Well it wasn’t a good start…. I wasn’t feeling too good all day Monday but everything ‘came out okay’ over night. I’m staying in Gothenburg at the moment which is a nice City. We took a boat trip last night which when from the estuary upstream, around a bend, out another estuary and along the coast. It’s a strange coast line – like the land is trying to hang on cuz although we were following the coast there were islands all over the place. After the boat trip we all decided to go to a pub called The Kings Arms. Turns out there are three bars with that name… so everyone went in different directions. Dave went a different way to the rest of the UK bunch and decided he wanted to come to our King Arms instead so jumped in a taxi. We can only presume that instead of “The Kings Arms” he thought Dave had asked “Get Some Arse” cuz he ended up at a porno bar being chased down the street by a couple of pimps.

    Anyway, my summary of Sweden:

    Swedish chocolate: above average
    Swedish food: fish
    Swedish hotels: very comfy beds
    Swedish roads: scary
Swedish restaurants: again, fish and more bloomin’ fish
    Swedish scrambled egg: heavily cheesed
Swedish girls: yes, it’s true what they say

Anyway, last day today.. I’ll be flying home tomorrow morning at a stupidly early time.

So I’m being sent to Sweden on Monday for two days of meetings…. never been there before so I’m looking forward to it. Most of the guys I work with have been before a few times so aren’t that excited by the concept of travelling, but I shall be a wide-eyed tourist. Poppy helped me get some Swedish Kronor this morning and she got plenty of sorry looks from passers-by cuz of her gunked up snotty eyes. The boss left me in charge for a few hours while she went to get her hair cut Britney Spears stylee.

And for the record… muchies ice cream is very nice, but kind of makes your stomach feel bad afterwards. It was either that, or the rolo ice cream, giant triple-choc cookie, or the toffee-chocolate popcorn. One or the other. bleurgh. Maybe the smarties ice-cream will neutralise it. Worth a shot.

  • Right… so I’m going to have a bash at this blogging thing, and this will be my first post then. Not very interesting, but it’s kind of a tradition for your first post to be boring from what I read. Although most blogs are boring right the way through come to think of it. If you can’t beat them join them… I can do that too… I’m more boring than anyone else!
